Fall 2013 – Spring 2014


1st Semester:    September 6, 2013 – December 13, 2013   (14 classes)
2nd Semester: January 10, 2014  – April 25, 2014 (15 classes)


8:30 – 9:30    Henle Latin First Year              
·        The objective of First Year Latin is a thorough mastery of forms, basic syntax and vocabulary as well as ability to read and translate simple sentences.
·        The textbook provides generous exercise for private study and for class work.   Students will learn all 5 Noun declensions, 1st, 2nd and 3rd Adjectives and 2 Verb Conjugations in 6 tenses.
                           
Cost: $120 per student/per semester ▪  $105 - 2nd child ▪  $60 - 3rd child

9:30 – 10:30    WordSmart SAT Prep/Vocabulary
·        Looking for a way to get a head start on the PSAT?
·        Does your student lack desire to study for the SAT’s? 
·        Need to strengthen your vocabulary? 
                            This class is designed to achieve this as we work through Wordsmart 5th Edition.
                           It contains over 1500 words with 210 roots and has several sample SAT test questions. 
                              
Cost:    $120 per student/per semester ▪  $105 - 2nd child ▪  $60 - 3rd child

Required Text: Word Smart, 5th Edition
(Each student must purchase a hard copy for class)


10:30 – 11:30  Music Appreciation 
·        Study the lives and music of famous composers from the Baroque, Classical, Romantic and Impressionistic eras.
·        Learn the names and tunes of famous pieces by these God gifted composers.
·        Read how God used difficult circumstances in their lives to create some of the most beautiful music of our time.
                         Every song is recorded on the computer for students to view in some form. This
                          allows them to enjoy the music and learn to appreciate the great musical composers.
