Godly Home Educating Mothers 2014-2015

It is so very hard to believe September is already upon us!  That means it is time for the Annual Kick-off Meeting for the 2014-2015 school year of Godly Home Educating Mothers (GHEM).  

The meeting will be held at Grace Brethren Church of Clinton (6501 Surratts Road) in the Fellowship Hall.  

Join us for food, fellowship and fun as we begin another year of homeschooling.  

Godly Home Educating Mothers (GHEM) is an outreach ministry for homeschooling mothers.  Through various programs, GHEM sponsors monthly events and activities that minister to the spiritual, emotional and physical needs of homeschool moms.  

With the principles of Titus 2: 3-5, GHEM provides an environment that offers the encouragement and support that the homeschooling mom’s need.  GHEM programs are open to all homeschooling moms in Prince George's County and the surrounding communities.

The Walters Art Museum School Programs available

Students will understand and apply the concepts of allegory in art. Students will analyze four allegorical bronze sculptures created by Francesco Bertos that represent Africa, America, Europe, and Asia.

Evening Adventures - Special Event

Saturday, November 15 & December 13 | 6 p.m. – 9 p.m.
Experience a night of private, quality, family play time and museum exploration without the crowds! An Evening Adventure includes pizza, snacks, and drinks; Meet and Greet with Curious George; Shrinky Dinks; Popcorn Making; ExerKid Games and unlimited play in the Museum!
Members: $20 per person | Non-Members: $25 per person
Children under 2 are free.
Tickets are limited and available on a first come, first served basis. Price reflects cost for one evening adventure on the date of choice.

Thrifty Tuesdays and Thursdays

General admission is just $8 after 1 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday. Park on the Roof Top Deck of Harbor Park Garage for $7 from 12:30 p.m. until 5 p.m. Pick up a validated ticket at the Box Office

Talking About Tots: Establishing Physical Activity Habits That Last a Lifetime!

Wednesday, October 29 | 11 a.m.
Melissa Janssen, M.S., a Research Clinician at the Kennedy Krieger Institute, will discuss development of physical skills, some practical tips to encourage unstructured and structured physical activity, and the various benefits of maintaining this healthy lifestyle for infants and toddlers. This program is free with Museum admission.

Watch re-enactors cook colonial style foods over an open fire in the Lord Mayor's Tenement.  There's always something interesting being cooked up.

"Build It! Colonial Construction"

This will be the official Grand Opening of our new Carpenter Shop! 

Get your hands dirty and learn about how some the buildings here in London Town were built.  Tools will be used, structures will be built, and fun will be had!

Charm City Yoga
Sundays in October

Bring your yoga mat and enjoy the serene setting in our ornamental garden. Charm City Yoga instructors will lead these sessions.

Militia Muster

Join the residents of Anne Arundel County as they partake in the annual militia muster. The re-enactors will have clothing and equipment reflective of the period.  Learn about colonial weapons and life and maybe practice some drilling, too.

Muddy Creek Artists Guild
Holiday Art Show

Come experience 300 years of arts and fine crafts. The Muddy Creek Artists Guild Annual Holiday Show will be held in the Visitor Center and Pavilion Buildings.
