Babies Born - National Zoo

Giant Panda Cub

A Cub is Born

Giant panda fans heard the squeals they'd been waiting for August 23. At 5:32 p.m., Mei Xiang gave birth to an active, vibrant cub. Then, 26 hours later, she delivered a stillborn. Both cubs are a reminder of the Zoo's mission to care for this fragile endangered species. Watch the Panda Cam
