Celebrate the Age of Discovery during our Scout Museum Days: Renaissance Masters! Join us for an interactive, guided tour of our special exhibition Revealing the African Presence in Renaissance Europe, then create a masterpiece of your own. Price: $10 per Scout; no charge for adult chaperones. Pre-registration is required.

Scout Museum Days Fall 2012: Renaissance Masters

  • Saturday, Nov. 10, 1-3p.m.: Brownie Girl Scout Museum Day
  • Sunday, Nov. 11, 1-3p.m.: Cub Scout Museum Day
  • Saturday, Nov. 17, 1-3p.m.: Jr. & Brownie Girl Scout Museum Day
  • Sunday, Nov. 18, 1-2:30p.m.: Daisy Girl Scout Museum Day
Suit up and set sail for Renaissance Europe! Explore master works like never before as you spend your afternoon with inventors, entertainers, and royalty of the fourteenth, fifteenth, and sixteenth centuries. Guided by a Museum Educator, your scouts’ expedition across the Atlantic will showcase masters of art, science, and culture as featured in our special exhibition, Revealing the African Presence in Renaissance Europe. Celebrate the Age of Discovery as you navigate your way into our art studio to create a masterpiece of your own. Brownie Girl Scouts will work toward their Painting badge, Junior Girl Scouts will work toward their Drawing badge, Daisy Girl Scouts will work toward their Courageous and Strong petal, and Cub Scouts will work towards their Art Academics Pin or Belt Loop during this interactive, two-hour exploration!

Private Scout Workshops

You may also contact the museum to schedule private workshops for your scout group (minimum of 10 scouts) focusing on Daisy, Brownie, Junior Girl Scout or Cub Scout themes such as:

*We have been informed that specific merit badges have been discontinued and may no longer be produced. Scout groups may still elect to choose these themes for private workshops if they wish. Museum educators are happy to customize workshops as needed. Senior Girl Scouts and Cadettes may contact the museum to work towards earning their Museum Discovery Interest Project on an independent basis.
