Spring Mini Camps- Patuxent Research Refuge


We are very happy to announce that we will be conducting a few short mini camps for the Spring season.  Please read the instructions for registering your children very carefully below.

*How to Register for Spring Camps:*

All programs are FREE, but require advance reservations.  Space is limited*. Reservations are taken only by calling 301-497-5887 (*We do not take registration by email at this time*).  The Visitor Center is located on Powder Mill Road between the Baltimore-Washington Parkway and Rt. 197.
Please advise us of any special needs so that we may accommodate you.

All camps will be held at the National Wildlife Visitor Center in 2013.

 *Please note:  Spring day camps are on a first come-first served basis and require registration by phone only at 301.497.5887.  Participants may only attend *one camp within their age group*.  Participants should dress for the weather, (long pants are recommended), wear coat/hat, insect repellant, close toed shoes and bring water with a bag lunch that does not need to be refrigerated.

  
*Animal Planet*

Ages 5-7, April 2nd & 3rd

10:00am-3:00pm

Learn the differences and similarities between different groups of animals.

Discover the diversity of these animals and how each survives in their habitat.

We’ll explore the refuge and find these creatures in their natural habitat while

playing games, doing crafts, and more.* *

*Refuge Ranger*

Ages 8-10, April 4th & 5th

10:00am-3:00pm

Come learn what it’s like to be a refuge ranger! Explore hands-on how wildlife survives on a refuge.  Learn to identify plants, animals, and insects and understand how to protect wildlife.  Of course, there’s much more to a refuge ranger, but you’ll have to come to find out!
