The Charles B. Rangel International Affairs Summer
Enrichment program (SEP), a six-week program designed to prepare undergraduate
students for careers in international affairs, is now accepting applications
for 2013. The Rangel Summer Program, which focuses on helping students to
explore options and prepare for careers in international affairs, takes place
from mid-June to late July. The SEP
includes for-credit courses in U.S. diplomatic history, political economy, and
writing at Howard University. In addition, participants meet with a wide range
of governmental and non-governmental representatives to discuss current global
issues and explore international career opportunities. The award covers
tuition, travel, room and board and provides a stipend of $3,500. Application requirements include U.S.
citizenship, a GPA of at least 3.2, and full-time student status. The SEP is an excellent vehicle for
outstanding students interested in foreign policy to sharpen their skills and
prepare for possible careers in international affairs. The application deadline
for the Summer Enrichment program is February 8, 2013. Further information and
application instructions are available online at www.rangelprogram.org <http://www.rangelprogram.org/> .
