How do you use the lessons from the past to discuss the present?  Join us on February 11 for a
conversation for middle and high school students on what we can learn from 19th century
abolitionists in the effort to end modern-day slavery.  Experts, scholars, and activists will join
together in a moderated panel discussion to reflect upon the abolition movement of the 19th
century and explore its legacy for ending modern-day slavery and human trafficking. The
program will feature excerpts from the upcoming AMERICAN EXPERIENCE documentary
The Abolitionists, which weaves together the stories of five of the abolition movement’s leading figures.

Presented by the National Museum of American History and PBS's AMERICAN EXPERIENCE, in

 collaboration with Smithsonian Affiliations.
