American Girl Club Summer Tea Party

American Girl Club for HomeschoolersYou are invited to the Annual CurrClick American Girl Tea Party!
Our AUGUST AMERICAN GIRL CLUB MEETING online will feature our annual American Girl Tea Party.
August 20 at 1:00 pm CST, 2:30 pm CST, or 4 pm CST will be our American Girl Tea Party choices. Choose the time that works for you.
You may choose the book for August to read, and then come to the tea on August 20 at one of the three times above. You can set up your own tea with your American Girl dolls and friends… and your mom at home, and then join all the CurrClick American Girl Club students across America and the world who will also be having tea. We will have a great time with proper tea etiquette instructions, fun tea crafts, American Girl games and more.

Our Book Discussion will Cover the book you choose:
  1. 1.     What is the title of the book?
  2. 2.     Why did you choose this particular book? Did you enjoy it? Why or why not?
  3. 3.     What was the main theme of the book?
  4. 4.     Which time period did the book highlight?
  5. 5.     What did you learn from the book?
  6. 6.     Would you change anything in the book? If so, what?
  7. 7.     How did the American Girl featured in the book change or mature?
  8. 8.     In what ways can you relate to the girl featured?
  9. 9.     Would you like to read more about this girl? Why or why not?
  10. 10.  If you could write the sequel for the book, what adventure would you include?



Victorian Etiquette - The Basic Rules of Etiquette  (Fun TEA TIME RULES)
Learn to govern yourself and to be gentle and patient.
Never speak or act in anger.
Remember that, valuable as is the gift of speech, silence is often more valuable.
Learn to speak in a gentle tone of voice.
Learn to say kind and pleasant things when opportunity offers.
Do not neglect little things if they can affect the comfort of others.
Learn to deny yourself and prefer others.

Victorian Etiquette - Breaches of Etiquette
To remove one's gloves when making a formal call.
To stare around the room.
For a caller who is waiting the entrance of the hostess to open the piano or touch it if it is open.
To look at your watch when calling.
To walk around the room when waiting for the hostess.
To open or shut a door, raise or lower a window curtain, or in any other way alter the arrangement of a room when visiting.
Turn your chair so that you back faces another guest.
To play with any ornament in the room or to seem to be aware of anything but the company present while visiting.
To remain when you find the host or hostess dressed to go out.



Craft: Victorian Paper Fan
Materials: Paper with a pretty design… or draw a design yourself, hole-punch, and ribbon.
The paper can be wrapping paper, parchment paper, construction paper, or writing paper
