TEEN STUDIO (GRADES 10—12)


February 15 and 22 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Education Studio
Online registration begins at noon on Wednesday, February 5.

Spend a Saturday at the Gallery looking at works of art, experimenting with studio materials and techniques, and meeting other teens who are interested in art! Investigate Cezanne's approach to composition and space, then experiment with dry pastels.

Led by artists and museum educators, each five-hour workshop includes an interactive tour in the galleries, group conversation, art instruction, and open studio time to experiment with materials and techniques. Lunch and all materials are provided.

Stretch your imagination and let the ordinary become extraordinary with this series of animated shorts. Films include The Lost Thing (Andrew Ruhemann and Shaun Tan, Australia, U.K., 2010); The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore (Brandon Oldenburg and William Joyce, U.S., 2011); Simple Harmonic Motion #5 (Memo Akten, U.K., 2011); Sleeping Betty (Claude Cloutier, Canada, 2007); and Luminaris (Juan Pablo Zaramella, Argentina, 2011). Approximately 60 minutes.

All film programs are shown in the East Building Auditorium. Groups are welcome. Food and drink are not permitted. No advance registration required.
