Schubert Singers
Schubert Singers, a concert choir
for children in Southern Maryland, is open by audition in the fall and spring to boys and girls entering
kindergarten and above who like to sing beautiful music. The singers learn and perform folk songs,
spirituals, rounds, and music by classical and contemporary composers that is
especially suited to the young voice.
They are taught how to sing with a lovely tone, to read music, and to
work together to create musical beauty.
The directors believe that singing and making music are very important
to the human spirit, that the acts of singing and making music enrich the life
of the mind and strengthen its capabilities, and that collaborative
music-making can serve as a vehicle for goodwill and peace among peoples of the
world!
Schubert Singers is an offering of Friendship Landing Center
for the Arts,
directed by Alicia Cordelle.
